Hampi – Virupaksha Temple
Over 1300 years of exuding mystic beauty, Virupaksha Temple was another gift of exquisite wonder during our time of experiencing ancient civilisations in Hampi.
This living temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, its ancient Dravidian architecture, towering gopurams (gateway towers) with intricate carvings, featuring the ancient optical science of an unique pinhole camera effect, in its main gopuram casting an inverted image. Experiencing living rituals while there was engaging, and created an enchanting, timeless atmosphere blending history, spirituality, and natural wonder.
