The birthplace of Hanuman on Anjaneya Hill in Karnataka, was another precious memory and visit while we were in Hampi - approx 575 barefoot steps up to the top of the hill that provided stunning views of Hampi, many Hanuman devotees and pilgrims walk up to this pilgrimage site, accompanied by monkeys along the way. We were the only non Indian natives this afternoon, and despite the long snaking queues to get into the temple in the afternoon heat, we were so uplifted and energised by the hordes of school children relentlessly chanting “Jay Shree Ram” in jubilance and excitement while waiting, as well as the local bright eyes and hearts across all ages, who met us with fascination and wonder.
Enjoy this beauty, dear friends.
Blessings,
